About Me

Sunshyne Darcy is a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist with over 20 years of experience helping adults navigate complex communication and cognitive challenges. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from Loyola College in Maryland, and a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the same institution.

Throughout her career, Sunshyne has worked in both inpatient and outpatient medical and rehabilitation settings, specializing in the evaluation and treatment of adults with neurological and medically complex conditions. Her clinical focus includes stroke, traumatic brain injury, and progressive neurogenic diseases such as Parkinson’s and Huntington’s diseases, at the outpatient level.

Sunshyne provides comprehensive, individualized therapy for a wide range of speech and language diagnoses, including aphasia, apraxia of speech, dysarthria, dysphagia (swallowing disorders), cognitive-linguistic deficits, mild cognitive impairment, and executive function disorders.

What sets her practice apart is Sunshyne’s deep passion for relational neuroscience and interpersonal neurobiology. She brings this to every session, supporting not only the individual client, but also their families and support systems. She believes in comprehensive and holistic, compassionate care that honors both the science of communication and the human connection at the heart of it.
